Ph.D. Fields of Study

Our program includes 10 fields of study that focus on particular topics or areas of religion. When you enter our program, you will select one of these fields as your specialization—your major area of study. A second religion field is then selected as your inside minor area. You will concentration your course work in these two areas, along with a third area outside of religion. This third area—your outside minor—is typically in a field intellectually contiguous to religion, such as anthropology, classics, history, literature, philosophy, political science, or sociology.
