Facilitating Excellent Classroom Discussion - Teaching & Learning

Thursday, March 1, 2018 - 12:00pm

We are pleased to invite you to the first T&L of the semester on Thursday, March 1 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM in 0015 Westbrook with David Morgan and Joel Marcus

We will talk about how to facilitate excellent discussion in the classroom. Since Professors Morgan and Marcus are some of the best seminar facilitators around, this is sure to be a treat!

Also, we will be having lunch from SoomSoom, so that makes this even better! Please RSVP here by February 22 if you plan to attend.

Joel Marcus is Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins in the Divinity School. He teaches New Testament with an emphasis on the Gospels and the context of early Christianity within Judaism. His publications include two monographs on Mark, a two-volume commentary on the same Gospel in the Anchor Bible series, and a forthcoming monograph on John the Baptist. He is currently working on the relationship between Judaism and Christianity in the first three Christian centuries.

David Morgan is Professor and Department Chair of Religious Studies with a secondary appointment in the Department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies at Duke. He has published several books and dozens of essays on the history of religious visual culture, on art history and critical theory, and on religion and media.
